Hydrosight Project Presentation

Glass-bottom Windows for an Egyptian Cruise Ship

Year: 2012-07-23
Tags of this Project: rectangular, Egypt, ship

This cruise vessel is one of two cruise vessels built by Tornado Marine. Between 2011 and 2012 Hydrosight delivered and partly installed the underwater windows for these vessels.
More than 100 Hydrosight underwater windows are installed in total on the shipyard in Suez, Egypt.

Here are some reasons to use glass-bottom windows with Hydrosight steel frame:

  • Other suppliers will work on site, using inferior sealing technologies. The seal needs to be tested in a sea trial. This needs to be repeated several times until the windows are water proof.
  • The steel frame is already part of your house boats hull. You need less material and work on ship structure when you use our steel frames.
  • Ship builders want to speed up the construction and installation process without relying on sea trials.
